SNAP25 and Marinesco-Sjogren syndrome: In 2019, Simó and colleagues even highlighted that phosphorylation of serin-residues in SNAP-25 ensures an accurate transmission process at the NMJ [37] and one of our recent studies highlighted on the benefit of L-serin-treatment toward restoration of the NMJs in a zebrafish model of a rare neuropediatric disorder called Marinesco-Sjögren syndrome [38].
