Yu et al. [89] investigated how TWIST and SLUG are upregulated in bladder cancer cells, whereas SNAIL expression is downregulated in bladder cancer cells, and TWIST expression is positively correlated with the tumor progression, grade, and stage, while the downregulation of E-cadherin is associated with advanced tumor grades and stages of bladder cancer. This evidence concerns the gene TWIST1 and urinary bladder carcinoma.
