Recently, there has been an intensive increase in the use of novel drugs in the treatment of obesity, such a liraglutide (glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1) agonist) and tirzepatide (a glucose-dependent insulinotropic polypeptide (GIP) and GLP-1 receptors agonist). This evidence concerns the gene GLP1R and obesity due to melanocortin 4 receptor deficiency.
