In vitro and in vivo studies showed that IL-6 promote prostate cancer cell proliferation and inhibit apoptosis through several cellular pathways, such as (1) the Janus tyrosine family kinase (JAK-signal transducer and activator of transcription (STAT) pathway, (2) the extracellular signal-regulated kinase 1 and 2 (ERK1/2)-mitogen activated protein kinase (MAPK) pathway, (and 3) the phosphoinositide 3-kinase (PI3-K) pathway [84]. Here, MAPK3 is linked to prostate carcinoma.
