Previous studies have identified ELAVL4 as an RBP targeting several neuroplasticity-related mRNAs, including Bdnf [25], Ngf [26], Gap-43 [27], and Nrn1 [28], all of which are closely associated with neuroplasticity and have well-established links to depression [40,41]. This evidence concerns the gene NRN1 and major depressive disorder.
