In mouse and rat models of heart failure induced by transverse aortic constriction (TAC), resveratrol (25–450 mg/kg/day) improved the left ventricular function, reduced hypertrophy, and decreased fibrosis, collagen deposition, the hypertrophic markers ANP, BNP, and β-MHC, and oxidative stress. The gene discussed is NPPB; the disease is heart failure.
