The study of cardiac hypertrophy induced by abdominal aortic banding in rats revealed that resveratrol (1 mg/kg/day, for 14 days, ip) significantly inhibited Ang II levels and downregulated the AT1Ra mRNA expression in cardiac tissue, disrupting the renin–angiotensin system (RAS) and preventing Ang II-driven hypertrophy [107]. Here, AGT is linked to cardiac hypertrophy.
