CCND2 and myocardial infarction: In another porcine myocardial infarction study Zhao et al. (2021) demonstrated that overexpression of the G1/S cyclin D2 in hiPSC-CMs enhanced their engraftment, proliferation, and the vascular density within the transplanted cardiomyocytes, which led to better left ventricular function and reduced fibrosis in a porcine myocardial infarction model.
