ACOXL and rheumatoid arthritis: This locus has been previously linked to ACOXL because the SNP in LD rs1554005, is a missense variant for ACOXL. Additionally, rs13401811 is located in an intron of ACOXL. However, the function of ACOXL is not especially relevant for RA pathogenesis and it is not expressed in T cells (less than 5 reads in our data) or other immune cells according to the DICE database [16].
