In the multivariate analysis, only albumin levels below 35 g/L (odds ratio [OR]: 4.914, 95% confidence interval [CI]: 1.131–21.346, p = 0.034) and ferritin levels above 306.8 ng/mL (OR: 3.838, 95% CI: 1.096–13.433, p = 0.035) remained independent risk factors of severe COVID-19 (Fig 1). This evidence concerns the gene ALB and COVID-19.
