Whole-genome sequencing (WGS) of HCC patients reveals mutations in several host genes, including TERT, TP53, CTNNB1 (beta-catenin), AXIN1, ARID1A, and WWP1. TERT exhibits the highest mutation rate at approximately 60 %, followed by TP53 with mutations ranging from 35 to 50 %, and CTNNB1 with mutations ranging from 19 to 40 % [60]. The gene discussed is CTNNB1; the disease is hepatocellular carcinoma.
