PSIP1 and autoimmune disease: The presence of autoantibodies (anti-DFS70) against a 70 kDa protein called ‘DNA-binding transcription coactivator of transcription p75’ or ‘lens epithelium-derived growth factor’ (LEDGF) has been associated with this pattern.7 It was first described in 1994 and has since been detected in many patients without autoimmune disease and even in healthy individuals.8 DFS70/LEDGFp75 is a versatile protein with multiple roles in stress response and transcriptional regulation.
