Previous studies have found that the expression of SLC3A2 is linked to the activation of important metabolic pathways, such as mTORC1 (a metabolic regulator that promotes cell metabolism) and c-Myc (which promotes cell growth, proliferation, and survival) (49), so we speculate that SLC3A2 may affect the progression and prognosis of NPC and HNSC by influencing immune cell infiltration in TME. This evidence concerns the gene MYC and nasopharyngeal carcinoma.
