They concluded that hirsute women have glucose intolerance and insulin resistance, regardless of the cause of hirsutism, whether PCOS or IH.23 Ucak et al., similar to our results, found that non-obese IH patients also had insulin resistance.24 Talaei et al. concluded that insulin resistance and hyperinsulinemia are associated with hirsutism in both PCOS and IH.25 Similarly, Fattah and Darwish found that basal insulin and HOMA-IR showed a significant difference between PCOS, IH, and control groups.26 This evidence concerns the gene INS and isolated hemihyperplasia.
