Recently, the crucial contribution of nucleotide-binding domain, leucine-rich–containing family, pyrin domain–containing-3 inflammasome in high-fat diet–induced type 2 diabetes and resulting bone loss has been reported (23), indicating the requirement of further investigation into the relationship between the nucleotide-binding domain, leucine-rich–containing family, pyrin domain–containing-3 inflammasome and TAS1R3. Here, TAS1R3 is linked to type 2 diabetes mellitus.
