Research findings suggest that IL-23R plays a pivotal role in inflammatory diseases, including ankylosing spondylitis (AS), inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), Crohn’s disease (CD), psoriasis, and multiple sclerosis, with evidence supporting the protective effects of certain IL-23R gene variants, which strongly supports our hypothesis (Jezernik et al., 2023; Mm, 2012; Zhang et al., 2015). This evidence concerns the gene IL23R and ankylosing spondylitis.
