We found that fasting glucose (66.07% of the effect of GCKR on GDM), triglycerides (15.63% of the effect of GCKR on GDM), and BMI (5.08% of the effect of GCKR on GDM) each mediated the total genetically predicted effects of the protein trait on GDM partially (Table 2). The gene discussed is GCKR; the disease is gestational diabetes.
