CEP295 and obesity due to melanocortin 4 receptor deficiency: Using a list of candidate genes previously used to annotate risk genes expressed in the mouse brain [49], we show predominant expression of candidate genes for obesity in hypothalamus (Asb4, Calcr, Cbln1, Pomc, Sim1), hippocampus (Bdnf, Grp), striatum (Cep295, Rarb) or in brainstem (Fam57b, Gprc5b, Tfap2b) (Supplementary Table 9).
