CRP and metabolic syndrome: Serum levels of other inflammation- or metabolic syndrome-associated factors, such as calprotectin, c-reactive protein (CRP), aspartate transferase (AST), alanine aminotransferase (ALT), triglycerides (TG), high-density lipoprotein cholesterol (HDL-C), and low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C), were not significantly increased in mice fed high-fat diet compared to those fed a normal diet (data not shown).
