A higher frequency of TP53 alteration in micropapillary CRC was also validated with immunohistochemistry in Cohort 1, where a mutation‐type staining pattern was observed in 29/38 (76%) micropapillary adenocarcinomas (versus 18/29 [62%] CRCs with micropapillary component, and 389/693 (56%) nonmicropapillary CRCs, p = 0.043) (supplementary material, Figure S5). Here, TP53 is linked to colorectal carcinoma.
