The 2024 Kidney Disease: Improving Global Outcomes (KDIGO) guideline and the American Diabetes Association recommend several drugs to reduce the risks of CKD, including renin–angiotensin system inhibitors, sodium–glucose cotransporter 2 inhibitors (SGLT2is), the selective nonsteroidal mineralocorticoid receptor antagonist finerenone, and a glucagon-like peptide-1 receptor agonist (GLP-1 RA) with demonstrated benefit in a population with CKD and T2D [8, 9]. Here, REN is linked to chronic kidney disease.
