The DAPA HF (Dapagliflozin in patients with heart failure and reduced ejection fraction), EMPEROR-Reduced (cardiovascular and renal outcomes with Empagliflozin in heart failure) and SOLOIST-WHF (Sotagliflozin in patients with diabetes and recent worsening heart failure) trials showed a significant reduction in the risk of worsening heart failure or death from cardiovascular causes among those taking SGLT2 inhibitors in patients with heart reduced ejection fraction (46–48). This evidence concerns the gene SLC5A2 and heart failure.
