The novel RAA assay targeting peg-344 and rmpA was validated on 208 clinical samples, including 158 Kp-positive samples collected from healthy individuals (n=60) and inpatients with pneumonia (n=80), bloodstream infection or liver abscess (n=68), demonstrating 100% sensitivity and specificity compared to qPCR by detecting all hvKp-positive samples, but owning a fivefold lower limit of detection [48]. This evidence concerns the gene NPPA and Liver abscess.
