Examination of Hpa2 expression in different human cancers including head and neck [2], gastric [13,14], pancreatic [18], hepatocellular [36], breast [15,27,37], bladder [16], cervical [36], and colon [17] cancer showed that, overall, decreased Hpa2 expression is associated with more severe tumor phenotypes and lower survival rates. This evidence concerns the gene HPSE2 and cancer.
