According to the 2022 World Health Organization (WHO) 5th edition of lymphoma classification [3], the term HGBL includes cases with large B-cells different from Burkitt lymphoma (BL) and diffuse large B cell lymphoma, not otherwise specified (DLBCL, NOS), which are characterized by the presence of rearrangements involving the MYC, BCL2 or BCL6 genes, and 11q aberrations. This evidence concerns the gene BCL2 and Burkitt lymphoma.
