Compound C treatment reduced the 14-3-3:WT-RAF1 ratio during HCMV infection but did not appreciably change the ratio of co-precipitated 14-3-3:RAF1-S621A (Fig. 2B and C), which is again consistent with AMPK activity modulating RAF1–14-3-3 association via serine 621 phosphorylation. This evidence concerns the gene RAF1 and cytomegalovirus infection.
