While there were no statistically significant associations between IL-6 and depression (see Supplemental Table 3), IL-1β (OR = 1.98, p = .001), IL-8 (OR = 2.44, p = .008), and TNF-α (OR = 2.46, p = .002) were associated with a greater odds of having depression, adjusting for age, ethnicity, income, and BMI. This evidence concerns the gene CXCL8 and depressive disorder.
