Since the surface expression of NKCC2 is known to be enhanced by phosphorylation of the actin cytoskeleton protein annexin A2 (Dathe et al., 2014), which is also regulated by proteolysis (Yamane et al., 2013), we investigated for the first time whether of the versatile protease inhibitor AAT affects the density of NKCC2 protein expression in kidney cortex membrane fractions of juvenile salt-induced hypertensive mice. This evidence concerns the gene SERPINA1 and Hypertension.
