In contrast, a recent study on the therapeutic effect of IL-6R inhibitors in different types of CVD was reported based on genome-wide association study (GWAS) summary statistics using a Mendelian randomization (MR) approach and found that IL-6R inhibitors had no effect on hypertension, atrial fibrillation, or heart failure but had a significant effect on coronary heart disease and myocardial infarction [26].
