On comparative analysis, female gender (p≤0.001), ESRD patients on hemodialysis for more than two years (p=0.01), less than three sessions of hemodialysis per week (p=0.05), decreased TLC (p=0.001), platelet count (p=0.035), increased serum urea (p=0.01), and creatinine levels (p=0.042) were the factors that significantly increased the risk of developing hypothyroidism in ESRD population. However, in our study, serum albumin (p=0.478) was not associated with the development of hypothyroidism (Table 3). Here, ALB is linked to hypothyroidism.
