CD4 and viral infectious disease: Besides, as described in numerous viral infections, the distribution of T-cell subsets was skewed towards a predominance of CD8+ T cell subsets over their CD4+ counterparts, as revealed by the decreased frequency of CD4+ (Figure 4B) and increased frequency of CD8+ (Figure 4C) T fractions, and resulting modulation of the CD4/CD8 ratio (Figure 4D) compared to control values recorded in 10 heathy volunteers.
