Dihydroartemisinin (DHA) exhibits renoprotective effects and reverses renal fibrosis by targeting DNA methyltransferase 1 (DNMT1) to reverse Klotho repression, inhibiting the Wnt/β-catenin and TGF-β/Smad signaling pathways, and providing evidence for its potential clinical application in treating renal fibrosis (55). This evidence concerns the gene TGFB1 and renal fibrosis.
