Glycogen synthase kinase 3 (GSK3) alters the conformation of RBM38 by phosphorylating it at serine 195, leading to the disruption of the interaction with the eukaryotic translation initiation factor 4E (eIF4E) on P53 mRNA, and thus modulating P53 activity in breast and colorectal cancer cells [63].
