There was evidence that higher levels of proteins such as dermatopontin (DPT) and Beta-crystallin 1 (CRYBB1) had an increasing effect on MM risk (ORs per normalised SD unit of protein 1.44 (95% CI 1.18–1.77) and 1.95 (95% CI 1.30–2.92), respectively). Here, CRYBB1 is linked to Miyoshi myopathy.
