ATAD1 and malaria: In the present study the six antigens were the three cysteine-rich interdomain region (CIDR) domains (CIDRa1.1, CIDRa1.4 and CIDRa1.5) of P. falciparum erythrocyte membrane protein 1 (PfEMP1), expressed on the surface, enabling the sequestration of infected erythrocytes to the endothelium of capillaries and venules and associated with severe malaria [19, 20], and three proteins associated with the parasite’s merozoite stage: glutamate-rich protein region 2 (GLURP-R2) and merozoite surface proteins 1 (MSP1) and 3 (MSP3).
