Given that ferroptosis has emerged as a critical area of research, particularly due to its potential as a therapeutic strategy against tumors, including those resistant to traditional treatments (Gao et al., 2019; He et al., 2023), we hypothesize that the MOA through which ORes exerts its anti-breast cancer activity is closely related to the induction of ferroptosis and the modulation of the PI3K/AKT signalling pathway. This evidence concerns the gene AKT1 and breast carcinoma.
