CXCL8 and liver disorder: Overall, the results presented, including the gene expression data and plasma CXCL8 concentrations, and the previously published data showing elevated CXCL8 in other inflammatory nonalloimmune liver diseases, as well as nonliver inflammatory conditions, currently preclude the use of plasma CXCL8 quantification to noninvasively detect subclinical liver injury in aLTR with further studies being needed.
