AGT and hypertensive nephropathy: In angiotensin II (Ang II)-induced hypertensive nephropathy, myeloid phosphatase and tensin homologue (PTEN) knockout mice presented a significant increase in the accumulation of double-positive cells for CD45 and PDGFR-β, which increased the infiltration of macrophages and T lymphocytes into the kidney and exacerbated renal injury and fibrosis in Ang II-induced hypertension (Jiao et al., 2021b).
