Indeed, a previous study on a cohort of MetS patients reported that polymorphism in ACSL4 in metabolically compromised individuals results in altered levels of plasma PCs [33], which are the major phospholipid constituents of circulating lipoproteins, underscoring the possible involvement of ACSL4 activity in modulating circulating lipoprotein levels in humans. Here, ACSL4 is linked to metabolic syndrome.
