PRDX3 and renal fibrosis: Subsequently, overexpression of PRDX3 in vivo and in vitro models revealed that Unilateral Ureteral Obstruction (UUO) and transforming growth factor (TGF)-β1 induced ROS production, fibrosis-related factors and inflammatory cytokines were significantly reduced, and PRDX3 knockdown mice were more prone to UUO-induced renal fibrosis (Jian et al., 2024).
