In viral infection cycles, many host membrane-associated antiviral factors could block their replication, such as bone marrow stromal antigen 2 (BST-2), serine incorporator 5 (SERINC5, SER5), membrane-associated RING-CH protein 8 (MARCH8), and interferon-induced transmembrane protein 3 (2, –, 5). Here, SERINC5 is linked to viral infectious disease.
