The pathological hallmarks of AD (amyloid beta and phosphorylated tau proteins) (Hart et al., 2016; Hart de Ruyter et al., 2023; Koronyo et al., 2023) and FTLD-tau (Kim et al., 2019; Kim et al., 2021) have been found in different sublayers of the retina in histopathological studies.
