Evaluation of CD11b+ myeloid cells, CD8+ and CD4+ T cells, and CD19+ B cells by flow cytometry in these patient samples indicate that increased myeloid cells (p=0.0096; d=1.39) in large versus small samples are the primary contributor to accumulated leukocytes in BPH, although CD4+ T cells also increase in large versus small samples (Figure 1E; Supplementary Figures S2C–E). This evidence concerns the gene CD8A and benign prostatic hyperplasia.
