MAP2K7 and melanoma: Currently, one of the first-line therapies for the treatment of MAPK-mutated unresectable CM is the administration of inhibitors targeting the aberrant protein BRAFV600E (BRAF inhibitor) and/or its downstream target MAPK/extracellular signal–regulated kinase kinase (MEK) (MEK inhibitor), but there are no approved therapies directed against altered epigenetic states in patients with melanoma (Aloia et al, 2019; Flavahan et al, 2017).
