A recent study conducted in Uganda [20] among HIV patients found that 66% of the individuals had probe bleeding, and around half had moderate-to-severe clinical attachment loss. Similar to our study, Pattrapornnan et al. [21] in a study conducted among HIV-positive pregnant women found an important association between Low CD4 levels and periodontitis (OR = 2.06, 95% CI = 1.00-4.27, p = 0.05). Here, CD4 is linked to periodontitis.
