There are several subtypes, with the most common being anti-N-methyl-D-aspartate receptor (anti-NMDAR) encephalitis, anti-gamma-aminobutyric acid B receptor (GABA-B-R) encephalitis, anti-leucine-rich glioma-inactivated 1 (LGI1) encephalitis, and anti-contactin-associated protein-like 2 (CASPR2) encephalitis [2,3].
