Peripheral blood immunophenotyping identified a weakly lambda‐restricted B‐cell population, positive for CD5, CD19, CD20 (weak), CD22 (weak), CD23, and CD200, without expression of FMC7 or CD10, diagnostic of chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL) (Matutes score 5) [1]—Rai stage 1 (modified risk status: intermediate) and Binet stage B [2]. The gene discussed is FCER2; the disease is B-cell chronic lymphocytic leukemia.
