As indicated in our previous study (Lučin et al., 2020), the inner pre-AC contains multiple tubular compartments, and the expansion of the phosphoserine (PS)-rich domain, which can be characterized by the detection of the endogenous RE-resident PS-binding protein PLEKHB2 (Evectin-2) (Hasegawa et al., 2021), was also observed early in the infection.
