Based on the chemical similarity principle it was seen that the phytocompounds of the petroleum ether fraction have the ability to inhibit enzymes and proteins overexpressed in cancers such as EIF4E, B-Raf, NOS2, ICAM, caspase 3, caspase 8, and MMP-9, demonstrating their potential to inhibit various processes in cancer such as proliferation, migration, invasion, angiogenesis and immune invasion. This evidence concerns the gene BRAF and cancer.
