β-CD-based vectors showed significantly higher gene transfection efficiency than that of **** PEI 25 kDa, i.e., 84% vs. 52.9% in HEK293T cells and 23.6% vs. 10.6% in HepG2 liver cancer cells. Moreover, β-CD based vectors were less cytotoxic to both cell lines (up to 67.8% viability) as compared to PEI 25 kDa (12.7% viability). The gene discussed is CYP4V2; the disease is liver cancer.
