APOE and Alzheimer disease: Although many studies adjust for potential confounders such as age, education, and physical activity, residual confounding factors, such as socioeconomic status, which can impact both dietary choices and access to healthcare, are not always adequately addressed, (iii) potential interaction between diet and genetic factors, particularly the APOE genotype, is an area that requires further exploration, and (iv) the exclusion of other dementia subtypes such as VaD, LBD, PDD, and FTD as the focus of the review was the dementia subtype of AD.
