The findings also showed that the PANscore, derived from PANoptosis-related genes, could predict the prognosis of sepsis patients, highlighting the roles of specific genes like ZBP1, X-linked inhibitor of apoptosis (XIAP)-associated factor 1 (XAF1), interferon-induced protein 44-like (IFI44L), suppressor of cytokine signaling 1 (SOCS1), and poly(ADP-ribose) polymerase family member 14 (PARP14) in the immune response in sepsis.
